Support programmes and associations in Saint-Etienne

We strongly encourage you to register for one or more of the following initiatives before your arrival:

🔹
UJM Greeters Programme
This programme allows you to meet UJM students or staff members during a city visit, a coffee break, a meal, or a cultural/sporting activity. It's a great opportunity to share your culture, discover Saint-Étienne, and connect with the local community in a friendly and informal way.

🔹
Buddy System
This peer-to-peer support system pairs international students with UJM students for cultural exchange and continuous support throughout your stay. Your buddy can help you navigate daily life and student life in Saint-Étienne, starting from your arrival.

🔹
Jeunes Ambassadeurs Programme
You may also apply to become a Jeune Ambassadeur. This unique initiative connects international students with local business leaders and institutional representatives. You will get the chance to explore the city’s economic and cultural life and develop a project linking Saint-Étienne with your home country.

🔹 Erasmus Mundus Students and Alumni Association (EMA)
To help you develop your
soft skills and expand your professional network—key assets for building your future career—iPSRS collaborates closely with the Erasmus Mundus Students and Alumni Association (EMA).

We strongly encourage all of you to become members of this European association as soon as possible and to explore the wide range of activities and opportunities it offers to students and alumni of Erasmus Mundus programmes across Europe.

🔹 Manutech-SLEIGHT Student Association (ASESLEIGHT) & OPTICA Student Chapter
We also encourage you to join the
Manutech-SLEIGHT student association (ASESLEIGHT) and the OPTICA Student Chapter at UJM from your very first semester. These communities are great opportunities to build friendships, organize events, and connect with researchers and industry experts.
